Forget tougher punishments and hiring more police for schools. The solution to crime and violence is in your lunchroom. http://www.alternet.org/environment/25122/?comments=view&cID=35161&pID=34156 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKr4HZ7ukSE

Hey Dana, I'm sorry but i'm going to be off topic, I couldn't find you email adress.

I've seen your appearence on Al Jazeera's "The Stream" and i've noticed that you said that the BDS movement wants to, and I quote, ".. you shuold boycut anything created in the occupied territories".

that is, in fact, not true.

the bds movment is aimed at boycotting anything that is made from or by Israel

i'm sure you are aware that there is a diffrenace between Israel itself and the occupied territories.

the bds movement seeks for me, as an Israeli, to have a hard time in getting education abroad, seeing music shows in Israel and exporting goods.

weather or not you agree with that I would storngy reomcand that you check the facts before you say them in a public forum becuase your words can influcance my life.

thats part of you job as a journalist. to get facts straight.

ill be happy to hear your comment elia.gl[email protected]

happy passover

Hi Elia,
That was my description of the "Zionist BDS" movement as described by peter beinart in his book and recent Times op-ed, not the broader BDS movement. Well aware of the difference and debate there.

"We saw this a lot around the story of Tyler Clementi, the gay Rutgers freshman who killed himself shortly after his roommate, Dharun Ravi, secretly filmed him making out with an older man. My Nation colleague Richard Kim has been eloquent on this point: The prosecution and conviction of Ravi had less to do with evidence that his actions led directly to Clementi's death, and more to do with moral panic over young people, bullying, technology, and sex."

Dharun Ravi never secretly "filmed" anything. Get the facts straight. There was a steaming webcam lasting all of 5 seconds showing two men with their clothes on kissing. There was then a question about a second attempt which both sides acknowledge never happened. The reason that "the prosecution and conviction of Ravi had less to do with evidence that his actions led directly to Clementi's death" is because there was NO evidence that two things were related at all. That's why the prosecution would not release a suicide note Clementi wrote or three other lengthly documents written the day of his death. Because they wanted his death to overshadow the trial without anyone being able to address it directly. Ravi was then found guilty, not of intending to intimidate Clementi but of the creating "circumstances which reasonably caused Clementi to feel intimidated." Hence the jury had to read the mind of a dead man to find Ravi guilty. They did say afterwards that this was "very difficult" to do. :) In short, a media-hysteria-driven show trial by the PC-thought police. See the 20-20 episode last month for the whole shabby story.
